1COMMUNITY1 partnered with the Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre (DRUHC) and the Durham Economic Development Partnership (DEDP) to help deliver a multi-sector public recruitment event – the Durham Region Career Fair.
The event was initiated to facilitate connections between employers and job seekers as well as to support The Town of Ajax’s successful On Track – 2,015 Jobs by 2015 initiative.
1C1 provided in-kind services to create a cohesive marketing package (website, video, brochure, signage, photography, etc) and provided technological capabilities including form and analytic data management.
As a result, the Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre gained access to valuable capabilities and key information that allowed for the strategic coordination and execution of the event as well as post-analysis.
Outcome
More than 1100 Job Seekers registered for this unique opportunity to meet employers face-to-face and learn of employment opportunities and support programs available to assist them in achieving their employment objective.
Employers had the opportunity to connect with job-ready skilled workers and learn of government programs that can help them meet their hiring needs and offset the initial cost of training new employees (based on eligibility).
